Cottage of the Week – The Glass House, Dingle, Co. Kerry

We’re dipping back into our Luxury Collection for this week’s Cottage of the Week. Since launching earlier this year our featured range of luxury properties has met with a great response, and since we’ve recently moved into overseas territories it seemed like the perfect time to introduce you to The Glass House in County Kerry. Then again, with a property as beautiful and unique as this single-storey house spectacular sea, beach and mountain views, there really isn’t a bad time to bring it to your attention.

It kind of makes us wonder why we took so long!

No matter. Good things come to those who wait – and experiences of the beautiful County Kerry don’t get much better than those on offer at The Glass House. As the name implies, the panoramic windows offer a spectacular appreciation of the region’s beauty. Gaze over the beach to the shimmering sea (where you might see dolphins) and marvel as land rises up into the mountains – all from the comfort of your living room!

Located just 4 miles from Dingle, it’s also perfectly situated for exploring the stunning Dingle Peninsula. Enjoy historical and archaeological sites such as Ferriter’s Cove and Gallarus Oratory, fabulous beaches, magnificent scenery and attractions. Take a boat trip to explore the remote Blasket Island archipelago where you will see a wealth of wildlife in their stunning natural habitat. Dolphin spotting boat trips are also available, and if you want to further your maritime exploration of the region you might also want to visit the Dingle Ocean World Aquarium and Dingle Wildlife & Seal Sanctuary.

Dingle’s geography makes it perfect for a host of active pursuits. You can walk, cycle or sail to your heart’s content, or you can take a more passive appreciation of your surroundings. The Dingle Peninsula hosts a wealth of nesting seabirds with rare autumn migrants. If you enjoy a round of golf you won’t find many more enjoyable courses than the Dingle Golf Club. Marvel at the sea views, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy a warm welcome.

As you have probably gathered, the area surrounding The Glass House is rife with relaxing opportunities. Just stepping out of the front door opens a wealth of wonderful options. But you would be forgiven for choosing to begin your break by relaxing in your holiday home. Offering that rarest of combinations: a perfect marriage of style and comfort, The Glass House’s interior is spectacular enough to ensure a wonderfully relaxing break regardless of its other welcome additions.

There’s a wood-burner with initial fuel in the living room. In the warmer months you can take to the 2-acre garden with lawn area and decked area, where you will find a hammock and a hot tub from which to admire the stunning views of the surrounding area. Equally spectacular views can be appreciated from both the master bedroom and sun room, which have floor-to-ceiling windows to maximise your wonderful, and wonderfully relaxing, vantage point!

The Glass House sleeps 6 holidaymakers through its 3 bedrooms. You will find your basic requirements are met with a host of property features including TV, cot, white goods, bed linen and towels, and, of course, the property and its surroundings are more than up to the task of ensuring you relax and enjoy complete tranquillity on your break.

If you’d like to a book a stay at The Glass House please visit the property’s listing on cottages4you.
