Cottage of the week – Nessie’s Nook
With an area as rich in history and legend as Loch Ness we decided that we would need somewhere equally distinctive and colourful for our new cottage of the week. Well, that Nessie’s Nook is bursting with character should be evident from its name and, thankfully, its looks are equally distinctive.
As the name suggests, Nessie’s Nook boasts commanding views of Loch Ness and the stunning Urquhart Valley. The magnificent Urquhart Castle is situated just 5 minutes’ drive away – though the route takes you through the lovely village of Drumnadrochit, so you’ll be forgiven if it takes you a little longer!
With so many spectacular vistas, the region is perfectly suited for an on-foot exploration. If you’re feeling brave you can fish on the banks of Loch Ness, with the possibility of landing trout, salmon and perhaps even a prehistoric sea creature. If you fancy a closer exploration of the legend of Nessie, you can also take a boat ride on Loch Ness. Though if you’re anything like us, you might prefer birdwatching for a more sedate and reliable study of local nature.
Nessie’s Nook is part of a traditional 100-year-old stone mill conversion that also offers two other lovely cottages, all with their own gardens and a shared courtyard. Inside the property you will find a vibrant, rustic décor that makes Nessie’s Nook an ideal venue for a celebration. And although it’s naturally suited to honeymoons and festive breaks, we think the act of holidaying itself is a cause for celebration, so you hardly need an excuse!
To help get you in the celebratory mood there’s an organic complimentary ‘Welcome Tray’ to greet you on arrival and special celebration packages, with organic champagne and chocolates, also available at additional cost.
If you fancy a unique place to stay while you explore the legend of Nessie and the surrounding beauty of Loch Ness then you can make a booking and find out more info on Nessie’s Nook’s listing on cottages4you.
