Cottage of the Week – Le Petit Paradis

With fantastic properties in Italy, France and Ireland being added to our Luxury Collection portfolio, we’re reaching overseas this week. There are hundreds of stunning featured properties, but we’ve selected the delightful Le Petit Paradis at the summit of a hill by the village of Coulonges-sur-l’Autize in the Deux-Sèvres region of France.

Located on France’s western side, the region surrounding Le Petit Paradis offers a wonderful mild climate thanks to the nearby Atlantic. You’ll find plenty of lush greenery with miles of lakes and woodland to explore and a healthy dose of sunshine to do it in!

La Rochelle, popular city and seaport to the Bay of Biscay, is accessible from the property. Spend the day exploring the old harbour, lively waterside cafés and aquarium – or visit the Marais Poitevin, with boat trips on the river to discover wildlife and windsurfing on Lake Xanton, which is just a short drive away.

Taking its lead from the surrounding area, Le Petit Paradis offers a beautiful and expansive eco-friendly living space. The interiors are warm and welcoming and utilise modern eco-materials, (the property itself has been awarded the European Eco Label). With a beautiful long private heated swimming pool beneath the villa, patio doors open onto wooden decking terraces which are ideal for dining al-fresco in the surrounding majesty of Coulonges-sur-l’Autize.

While we have focussed on Le Petit Paradis as a summer property, it’s equally suited to holidaying in cooler climes. To complement the region’s temperate climate you will find under-floor heating and an open fire in the living area. What’s more it currently has plenty of availability for the festive period and into the New Year.
