Cottage of the week – Hazelnut Oast
We like to think that when it comes to self-catering holiday accommodation we offer a little bit more. Whether that’s great value, stunning locations or – in the case of our new Cottage of the Week – a property that’s unlike anywhere else you’ve stayed.
That Hazelnut Oast in East Sussex is a little bit different should be evident from the name. A converted sandstone and brick oast house, in a former life the property was responsible for drying hops as part of the brewing process. However, since being sympathetically converted into holiday accommodation it now offers a wealth of unique charms, not to mention the opportunity to relax in complete comfort.
The interiors are a perfect compliment to the property’s distinct looks, offering plenty of comfort without compromising its unique rustic charm. You’ll find a farmhouse kitchen/dining room, wood-burning stove, exposed beams, tiled floors, oak stairs and much more. More contemporary comforts can be found with a games room (including table-tennis, table football, badminton, books, board games and toys), TV, DVD player and white goods.
Set in the Bewl Water Reserve you’ll see far reaching countryside vistas beyond the property’s sprawling garden. Pashley Manor Gardens, pubs and golf are in the village with sailing and medieval castles nearby. Tunbridge Wells and Hastings are also easily accessible from the property.
