Cottage of the week – Christmas Cottage

There really is no better time of year to celebrate this week’s featured property. Christmas Cottage in Derbyshire is a beautiful, detached 250-year-old stone holiday cottage set in an equally idyllic hamlet of Moorhall.

Moorhall is ideally located for exploring the beauty of the surrounding area. The stunning Chatsworth House is just a short drive away in the tranquil village of Baslow. There you’ll find parklands that are perfect for relaxing walks in the winter air. More practical needs can be answered with a shop only 4 miles away and a pub less than 3 miles from the cottage.

Inside the property itself, you’ll find a wonderful marriage of period features and contemporary charms. There are exposed beams, mullion windows and open fires, along with deep sofas, comfy beds and a variety of electrical goods. Outside, there’s a stunning enclosed garden with patio, terrace and furniture. Obviously it may not be the best weather to appreciate the garden up close but, thankfully, there is a lovely dining room and conservatory from which you can admire the seasonal light.

With a name like Christmas Cottage we’d argue the best time to appreciate such a property is during the festive period and at the time of posting it still has New Year availability. So if you fancy a quiet and stunning property from which to see in the New Year then Christmas Cottage really is a perfect choice. Please visit the property’s listing on cottages4you for more info. You can also visit the search page to look at thousands of other featured properties.

Cottage of the week is going to take a brief hiatus, but we’ll be back in 2011 with another fantastic selection of properties. Until then have a fantastic Christmas and a very happy New Year!
