British Beach Week starts tomorrow!
British Beach Week is here and with the sun finally shining, join us and make the most of our beautiful coastline over the next week. Here are some ideas to get you started:
Saturday 26th May 2012
- Shoreham Rowing Club Regatta – Shoreham By Sea
The Annual Coastal Rowing Regatta is affiliated to the Coast Amateur Rowing Association and takes place from 9am until 6pm.

Sunday 27th May 2012
- Seafront Display of Classic Cars – Bexhill on Sea
A parade and display of classic cars line the beautiful seafront at the Old Bathing Station on De La Warr Parade.

- Gannet and Puffin Cruise – Bridlington’s North Pier
Board the ‘Yorkshire Belle’ for a spectacular cruise. From May onwards, the cliffs of Bempton and Flamborough are crowded with over 200,000 seabirds setting up home. Watch gannets flying overhead as well as thousands of other seabirds, including kittiwakes, razorbills and the colourful puffin.

- Blackpool 10k Beach Race
The course is one lap along the beach from Blackpool to St. Annes – 11 am start from the Solaris Centre, South Promenade, Blackpool.

Friday 1st June 2012
- Deganwy Dash
Starting at the breakwater, halfway between Deganwy beach and West Shore, the five mile course runs from Conwy Castle to Deganwy Promenade. Open to all runners from 16 years of age upwards.

- Fat Boy Slim Big Beach Bootique – Brighton Beach
This is the first major music event at the American Express Community Stadium in Brighton which is being headlined by Fat Boy Slim himself. Other acts include Carl Cox and Annie Mac.
- The Royal Escape Race – Brighton
The Royal Escape is the largest offshore race on the South Coast and starts just off Brighton Pier. It is 67 nautical miles long and held annually with a mixed fleet of monohull yachts.
