101 places to go – Killarney

The reason we started our ‘101 Places to Go in the UK, Ireland and France’ was to highlight a range of locations that offer something for every holidaymaker. But, in truth, our latest addition, Killarney in County Kerry kind of offers something for everyone already.

As well as offering a National Park on your doorstep, you also have access to a fantastic selection of natural history and heritage – all wrapped up in one of Ireland’s most scenic locations.

Yes, there’s a wealth of things to see and do in Killarney. Here are a couple of our favourites. And if we’ve missed any out then feel free to tell us off and leave your suggestion below!

• The Ring of Kerry is a circular road (obviously!), taking in some fantastic attractions. Muckross House, the Gap of Dunloe and Torc Waterfall are just some of the many things to admire.

• Fishing and golf are possibly two of the best sports that allow you to appreciate the lay of the land while you partake. Coincidentally, both are widely available to visitors.
