Wellness breaks in the UK

Exercising the body and resting the mind – wellness breaks offer the perfect opportunity to get active amongst some of the UK’s most amazing scenery.

Relax in complete comfort afterwards with hot tubs, home cinemas, wood burners and more. Here are 6 amazing mind and body wellness breaks in the UK…

Cycling & Yoga in the New Forest (The Cottage At Dockens Water, Hampshire)

yoga break in the New Forest

Some of the UK’s largest unenclosed areas of forest and heathland can be found in the New Forest, and with so much wonderful wilderness, it’s definitely a place where pedal power is the preferred way to get about.

With routes from 2 to 25 miles, off-road tracks and low-speed roads, it’s perfect for an active adventure break.

Return to The Cottage at Dockens Water and you can enjoy beginners’ yoga and meditation, instructed on-site by a qualified teacher. With a shared swimming pool and sauna, it’s the perfect mind and body break!

Walk & Spa in Lancashire (Old Chapel House, Barnoldswick, Lancashire)

walking

The Lancashire / Yorkshire border provides some of the best walking trails you could hope to enjoy on a UK break. You have the iconic beauty of the Dales and the best-kept secret of Lancashire’s Forest of Bowland. What’s more, both locations have an abundance of amazing eateries!

A stay at the Old Chapel House in Barnoldswick offers the ultimate in relaxation when you arrive home. Relax on leather Chesterfield sofas in-front of the original Victorian range. There’s even a fantastic beauty salon/spa next door where guests can experience a wide range of relaxing treatments.

Surf & Cinema in Devon (Ringslade Barn near Newton Abbot, Devon)

cinema

Devon’s south coast is home to a number of stunning surf spots. Bantham beach is widely regarded as one of Britain’s best – and not just for catching waves. Located in an AONB with amazing views, it’s equally well-suited for family relaxation as it is surfing.

There’s a surf school on the beach to help novices find their feet on the waves, whilst more experienced boarders will be in their element.

Return home to Ringslade Barn and you will find a games room and a 12-seater cinema room – perfect for unwinding after a day on the waves. Point Break anyone?

Scuba & Soak in Northumberland (Staward near Hexham, Northumberland)

saward

The Northumberland coast offers amazing scenery both above and below water. Learn to dive in quarries and at freshwater sites before you head to the coast in search of seals and shipwrecks around the Farne Islands.

Return home to your log cabin and you can soak in the outdoor hot tub and enjoy some of the finest views of dry land that the UK has to offer. With cycle paths, walks, bridleways and plenty of attractions within easy reach, it’s the perfect holiday, on-land or in the water.

Coasteering & Hot Tub in Wales (Llys yr Onnen, Pembrokeshire)

hot tub

One of the most fun ways to appreciate the beauty of Britain’s coastline is to try coasteering. Basically, scrambling, leaping and swimming around the shorelines in a wet-suit, coasteering is equal parts enjoyment and exhaustion.

What better way to unwind after a day in the water than with a warm soak in a hot tub? Pembrokeshire is not only where coasteering started, it’s also the home of Llys yr Onnen: a 3 time Customer’s Choice winning holiday home with its own hot tub.

There’s nothing better than relaxing in the bubbles and soaking up the scenery after a day of adventuring!

Canoe & Curl up on the sofa in Cornwall (Morvoren Cottage, Cornwall)

canoeing

Lizard Point is the perfect place to explore the coves and coast of Cornwall. As you canoe around the most southerly point of Great Britain, you can explore caves, visit islands, spot coastal wildlife and, generally, just have a wonderful time.

Morvoren (Sea Maiden) Cottage is the perfect place to cosy up afterwards. Up to 6 holidaymakers and 1 pet can enjoy the comfort the property affords, including a wood burner and more.
