The following fantastic cottages all offer a warm welcome to pets and their owners – and all have amazing reviews from former guests.

So take a look at a selection of dog-friendly, Customers’ Choice award-winning properties, all perfect for the best-ever break with your four-legged friend. Find lots more pet-friendly breaks on the cottages.com website.

The Bothy, Perthshire

The Bothy kitchen

The 2018 European Holiday Home of the Year Finalist is just one of the well-deserved accolades received by this beautiful retreat for two and one pet in Perthshire.

The surrounding area offers a perfect holiday playground, and your break can be tailored to suit your needs. Fancy a home-cooked meal to greet you, or a table reserving at the local pub? It can all be arranged by the owner.

Norcot 1, Kingsand, Cornwall

Norcot 1

The Cornish coast is one of the most welcome sights for guests and their pets, and few properties offer a warmer welcome than this beachside cottage.

Yards from the dog-friendly beach and local pub, it also featured in the period film Mr Turner. While you could watch it on the DVD player in the evening, you could just as easily marvel at the amazing views from each room.

St Blanes House, Isle of Bute

St Blanes House

Perfect from grand occasions, this scenic holiday home was once a hotel and offers spectacular views of the sea and the surrounding islands.

There’s plenty for pooch to enjoy in the surrounding area, while guests can enjoy the large games room and selection of musical equipment in the living room.

The Farmhouse, Gloucestershire

the farmhouse

A large, light property in the gorgeous Cotswolds, the Farmhouse is perfect for celebrating a special occasion – or making one.

Rolling lawns and a hot tub are perfect for pleasing every type of holidaymaker, from pooches to owners. Inside you will find a wealth of space to allow everyone their own privacy.

The Tower at RAF Wainfleet, Lincolnshire

the tower

You’ve never stayed in a holiday property like The Tower. A former, RAF base, it was once used to observe practice bombing runs – including the famous Dambusters in WW2.

The surrounding land is perfect for dog walks, and The Tower itself is now the ultimate quirky holiday home. Three surrounding former bunkers are equally dog-friendly if you want to assemble your own holiday squadron.

Mill Race Lodges near Knighton, Powys

Mill race

The Welsh / English border offers some of the UK’s finest walking terrain. When you’ve exhausted your pooches after a day of hiking, there’s no better place to return to than Mill Race Lodges.

Each sleeping up to 6 holidaymakers and 2 pets, you will find a hot tub and sauna in each property along with plenty of comfort and grounds to unwind in.

Carsaig, Stirlingshire

Carsaig

Another wonderful waterside property, Carsaig offers its own private shore and jetty onto the calm waters of Loch Venacher. What’s more, three acres of grounds are perfect for up to 2 pooches to explore.

A hot tub, open fire, gorgeous views and fishing on-site will ensure a relaxing break for all. Carsaig sleeps up to 6 happy holidaymakers.

The Dairy, Devon

The Dairy Nadderwater, near Exeter, Devon

Enjoy amazing views and brilliant walks for your pet in the surrounding countryside at this spacious family-sized getaway.

Exposed beams and an elegant interior – with sumptuous comfort for pets and their owners – creates a wonderfully welcoming ambience. A great location is the icing on the cake, though you’d be forgiven for choosing to relax close to your amazing holiday home.

The Dairy, Suffolk

the dairy

A gorgeous romantic cottage for 2, and because it’s pet friendly, you don’t need to leave Fido at home.

A wealth of walks, country pubs and beaches await in the surrounding area. Once you’ve had enough active exploring, you can return home to the complete comfort of the property; relaxing in front of the wood burner or curling up on the sofa.

Three Horseshoes House, Norfolk

three horseshoes

An amazing large property in Norfolk, Three Horseshoes House sleeps 14 and up to 2 pets. The original interior features offer a wonderful timeless feeling, whilst your four-legged friends will adore the large gardens.

The garden offers a hot tub, which is a perfect way to unwind after a day exploring the many charms of Norfolk. The city of Norwich is only 11 miles away, and the Norfolk Broads and coastline are both within easy reach.

Lake View, Worcestershire

Lake View garden

A gorgeous single-storey barn conversion with an enclosed garden and lake views, this is the perfect property for pets and their owners.

With access to the River Severn valley, you won’t find many places for a walk with your four-legged friend. With plenty of award-winning pubs in the area too, you won’t find many better places to reward yourself after, either.

Windsmoor Cottage on Gower, Glamorgan

windsmoor

Clifftop walks in Britain’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are a huge attraction for pets and their owners, but there’s much more to enjoy at this family sized escape in Glamorgan.

A BBQ and beautiful garden are ideal for enjoying in the warmer months, while the cosy wood burner and comfy interior will make for a wonderful escape in the wintertime.
