Pet friendly autumn escapes

Stitchcombe Mill near Marlborough, Wiltshire

Dog walking in WiltshireA perfect rural retreat for 8 and 2 pets. The beautiful rustic interior is ideal to return to after a day exploring the surrounding countryside. But even if you don’t make it to the market town of Marlborough (2 miles), Avebury, Winchester or Bath, you will find much to enjoy.

The Mill is set alone in secluded gardens with a river running alongside it. There are loads of amazing walks to enjoy from your doorstep. An open fire, Aga, wood burner and supremely comfortable furnishings make it the perfect escape for autumn too.

Dragonfly Island, Somerford Keynes, Gloucestershire

Dog walking in GloucestershireWhether celebrating a special occasion or making one, an autumn break at Dragonfly Island offers a great excuse for a celebration. Detached and set on its own small island with lagoon views and its own garden, the property is quite simply stunning.

There’s plenty of great walks to enjoy in the wonderful tranquillity of the Somerford Keynes estate. And when you leave the beautiful surrounds of your private nature reserve you have the beautiful Cotswolds to enjoy too.

Clachandubh, Lochgilphead, Argyll and Bute

Made of three former shepherds’ dwellings, it has its own enclosed garden and is located on an estate covering around 13,000 acres of stunning, breath-taking scenery.

Needless to say, there are plenty of amazing walks for up to 6 guests and 2 pets. Short ferry crossings to Mull, Islay, Gigha and Arran are easily made, and you can enjoy the cottage’s wonderful interior afterwards with open fire, soft sofas and complete comfort.

The Buttery near East Dereham, Norfolk

Dog walking NorfolkOne of three properties located on site, this fantastic property sleeps 2 and offers a perfect, and perfectly peaceful, retreat in the Norfolk countryside. There are wonderful walks from your doorstep, including the Wensum Way, a 12 mile trek through glorious countryside.

The welcoming interior is all on one level and offers a lovely amount of comfort for couples. Enjoy snuggling up by the open fire, long lies in and an amazing adventure with your four-legged friend.

The Gate House near Glenrothes, Fife

Located at the entrance to 400 acres of beautiful parkland on the Balbirnie Estate, your surroundings offer plenty of brilliant walks.

The interior offers plenty of modern comfort too, whilst the open fire in the living room will be most welcome after an autumn adventure. With the coast nearby, and plenty more attractions accessible, it’s perfect whether you want to explore your surrounds or stay inside.

Treburthick House near Charlestown, Cornwall

Dog walking CornwallA wonderful location on the Cornish coast that you don’t even need to leave your house to enjoy. This beautiful, big property is just the place to blow the cobwebs away and allow an amazing autumn escape.

Sleeping 15 guests and 2 dogs, the property offers panoramic views along the coast to St Austell Bay. There are enough activities to enjoy in the surrounding area with Fowey, the amazing Eden Project and the fascinating Lost Gardens of Heligan all easily accessible. There is also enough space and comfort to relax everyone too, with the wood burning stove a welcome addition for autumn.
